On August 31, 2021, we lost our only son, Chris, creating a vast hole in our lives that could not be filled. As the months passed after his death, we knew we needed to create a lasting memory dedicated to what was so dear to him - his experiences studying and traveling overseas. To that end, we established the Christopher J Chute Chari
On August 31, 2021, we lost our only son, Chris, creating a vast hole in our lives that could not be filled. As the months passed after his death, we knew we needed to create a lasting memory dedicated to what was so dear to him - his experiences studying and traveling overseas. To that end, we established the Christopher J Chute Charitable Trust for Study Abroad, affectionately known as 'ChuteHigher'. Our goal is for all students, regardless of their financial status, to be able to 'Chute Higher' and achieve their educational goals.

Our Mission
We focus on providing monetary grants to financially disadvantaged students who wish to participate in a university-sponsored semester or year-long study abroad program. Our goal is to allow students to gain intercultural understanding, learn mutual respect, and develop a sense of social responsibility through their time spent in another
We focus on providing monetary grants to financially disadvantaged students who wish to participate in a university-sponsored semester or year-long study abroad program. Our goal is to allow students to gain intercultural understanding, learn mutual respect, and develop a sense of social responsibility through their time spent in another country. Our first project established The Chris Chute Memorial Scholarship for Study Abroad at DePauw University which will be given to a student with financial need to experience a semester or year overseas. We are very excited about this endeavor and the ability to see other students pursue their study abroad goals.

Mental Health Initiative in November
All funds received during the month of November will be donated to our partner in Young Adult and Teen Mental Health Support, The Jed Foundation.
